Primary Spanish - Que Hice Ayer?

February 18, 2014 by Administrator

Entertain Key Stage 2 Spanish learners with this fun short videoon using the past tense, which shows Mexican schoolchildren playing a game of charades.

Alejandro is the game's host and there are two teams of three pupils. Each child has to pick an action out of a pot and mime it to their team. Alejandro awards points for successful acting.

The children have to act out what they did yesterday, making use of the past tense. When the teams tie on two points each, Alejandro has to act out the tie-breaker to decide on a winning team.

Shot in Cosoleacaque, Veracruz in southern Mexico, this lesson starter relates to the language and themes explored in curriculum unit 22 for KS2 Spanish, Then and Now. And it provides opportunities to develop primary pupils' modern language skills, understanding of Spanish in context and cultural appreciation.
