Introduce Year 4 science pupils to the forces behind sliding objects, using a game of tug-of-war.
The tug-of-war contest is taking place on a shiny wooden floor. On one side is a large man and on the other, two much smaller men.
But the large man is only wearing socks and the two men are wearing trainers. Who will win, and why?
After some pulling back and forth, the large man finally loses his grip and slips over, resulting in victory for the two smaller men, demonstrating friction and sliding objects for Key Stage 2 pupils.
