Integrating Health and Education

February 14, 2014 by Administrator

This programme examines the leadership of two different children's centres and demonstrates good practice when health and education services work together.

At Little Owls Children's Centre, South Kirkby, manager Helen Cartwright talks about the challenges of working with health professionals at the centre, as they are not currently co-located.

A pilot programme for speech and language held at the centre provides evidence of Helen?s continued focus on encouraging joined-up working between the education and health services.

At Lune Park Children's Centre, Lancaster, health services such as speech and language therapy, health visitors and midwives are placed side by side. Centre manager Judith Thomas believes this is key to creating successful partnerships between health and education services at the centre.

This Programme was made in association with the National College of School Leadership (NCSL).
