Teacher Claire Simmonds explains how ICT, drama, storyboards and oral storytelling help to make pupils secure in their language, before setting pen to paper.

Sue Ellis, from The Centre for Literacy in Primary Education, says that children who are steeped in literature echo this in their writing.
