An animation presents KS2 English students with the chance to undertake creative writing.
The animation called Lily & Ermine, told through pictures without dialogue, offers teachers the chance to encourage students to write imaginatively and descriptively.
The video can also be used to imagine and predict what happens before and after the narrative. The story focuses on character, Lily, who goes exploring in the woods and encounters an ermine (stoat). She climbs a tree to take a closer look, falls out and is helped to safety by the creature.
As well as getting pupils to create their own fictional adventures, health and safety, risk-taking and friendship themes can also be covered with this lesson starter.
