Three teachers reveal their most successful lesson ideas for speaking and listening in KS3 English.
Leigh Beauchamp uses Robert Swindell's book "Stone Cold" to discuss attitudes to homelessness with his Year 9 students which results in the creation of performance poems.
Sarah Touhey's Year 9 class are studying war poetry, including Wilfred Owen's "Dulce Et Decorum Est".
A group of pupils give a presentation of the poem, followed by feedback from the rest of the class.
Lastly, a Year 7 class come up with story ideas using inspiration taken from a bag of items, and presenting to the class in groups.
