A KS4 cross-curriculum lesson for Year 11 pupils teaching citizenship through a variety of subjects including geography, PSHE and life skills.
A teaching pack from the Citizenship Foundation provides the basis for a lesson by Manny Fernandez at Sir John Lawes School in Harpenden. Pupils are encouraged to take part in fundraising in their local community with activities including cream pie throwing and organising discos.
In the second part, opinion lines and carousels are used by teacher Helen Gosnell in a geography lesson designed to ask students how they view the world around them, and show how they can become global citizens.
