Two schools in Sheffield are working on transforming their governors' meetings into productive and enjoyable events.
At Wybourn Primary School, chair of governors, Keith Crawshaw, plans small group discussions and school tours to bring relevance to the meetings with the idea of creating an open and engaging environment.
While at High Storrs Secondary School, Andy Child and Liz Wilson place emphasis on student voice, ensuring that staff and pupils alike have a say in issues concerning the running of the school.
Prospective governors are also allowed a trial period to find out what the role involves.
