A mainstream secondary school shows how it integrates girls with severe and complex needs, across a variety of activities and lessons.
At Mulberry School for Girls, east London, SENCO Rachel Wheeler and SEN teacher Lauren Denyer work with the Discovery Group on their receptive and expressive language and communication skills, as well as their letter and word recognition.
Victoria Lee leads a food technology class where the Discovery Group are joined by other students with less complex needs, who benefit from helping them.
Finally, the students take part in the Poetry Cafe, where they share their favourite poems with their mainstream peers.
