Inspired Learning Video Clips- Part 1

February 3, 2014 by Administrator

Mick Waters, former director of curriculum at the QCA, celebrates the inspired learning captured in five video clips made by pupils and teachers, and invites schools to send in their own inspiring videos.

The first clip is an animation of a talking piano created by a secondary school student to inspire visitors to Bristol Museum. Next, The M.A.T.H. Project turns classroom maths into a gripping drama, in a film made with students at George Salter School.

The Paperman is a short film shot and edited by Year 6 pupils in Sussex to encourage recycling. In the fourth clip, hearing impaired students from Northern Ireland have fun creating a guide to a bird sanctuary.

The final clip is taken from a documentary about a term-long schools project called Igniting Learning at Graisley Primary School in Wolverhampton.

Mick talks about the power of each clip and suggests how teachers might use similar inspiring approaches in their own schools.
