Since September 2009, the process for teachers crossing the pay threshold at the top of the main pay scale has been simplified and now focuses on two successful performance management reviews.
Many teachers have previously found the process of crossing the pay threshold complicated and time consuming. However more than 90 per cent of teachers who apply are successful and as a result gain greater financial rewards. Mike Baker asks will the new system prove more popular amongst teachers.
