At Manor Primary School, Year 5 class teacher Carol Hardwicke uses a number of strategies to help statemented ADHD pupils. These strategies have also proven beneficial to the rest of the class.
Most teachers will have at least one pupil in their class displaying ADHD behaviour. Carol breaks lessons into chunks and uses visual timetables to stick to daily routines which help to keep pupils focused and active.
We see how Carole pre-teaches learning journeys to ensure SEN pupils can contribute in class and how an uncluttered classroom with minimal, well organised displays helps pupils to focus.
