Three members of staff at the Oasis Academy, Grimsby, show how they have risen through the ranks by focusing on their CPD development.
Principal Jane Bowman has introduced a personalised programme of CPD for all staff in the seven years since she arrived at the school, contributing to a boost in morale, and an improvement in results.
The three staff members talk about their CPD journey. Trevor Bailey joined the school as a PE teacher, and has now succeeded in becoming the assistant principal.
Ruth Frampton, a former temporary TA who feared her dyslexia would hold her back, is now a full-time teacher and learning coordinator for English.
And Cathy Mason, who has progressed from school nurse to working closely with teachers, is now considering becoming a full-time teacher.
