Park Lane Primary School, Peterborough, demonstrates the importance of collecting, recording and analysing pupil data to monitor pupils' progress more closely.
Headteacher Val Cameron encouraged the use of the data software system throughout the school. Teachers input SATs results and uses targets in the classroom to track pupil progress. Non-teaching staff record attendance and achievement data on each child's personal profile.
This universal approach allows the headteacher to raise any attendance issues with the Educational Welfare Officer or school governors.
The school uses the data in a positive way, building up a clear picture of every pupil by recording their achievements, both in and out of school.
