Good News

January 27, 2014 by Administrator

As headteacher Gary Philips continues his push to raise GCSE standards, the Year 10 AGM provides an opportunity for students to raise their concerns, while staff receive some good news.

Lilian Baylis Technology School in London is on the DCSF National Challenge list of schools facing the possibility of closure if they drop below 30 per cent A*-C GCSE including English and maths.

At the AGM, students raise their concerns, but Gary grows increasingly frustrated with the familiar preoccupation with uniform and school bags.

There is also a look at the work of the schools' pastoral committee, which regularly reviews the progress of the large number of vulnerable children who attend the school.

Meanwhile, just before the Christmas break, there is some positive news for staff. The most recent results put the school in the top 10 per cent of schools nationally for English and maths.
