This programme takes a look at the CPD practices put in place by the leadership team at Leighton Primary School, Cheshire, during the 2007-08 academic year.
Headteacher Glynn Turner has taken a proactive approach to CPD, appointing a CPD leader within the school, reflecting his belief that successful CPD should be a continuous, reflective process.
Outside experts work with staff to share their knowledge; an artist in residence works creatively alongside KS2 teachers, and a speech therapist helps TAs improve their ability to help pupils develop speaking and listening skills.
The school's networking approach has helped spread good practice and training between Leighton Primary and other schools in the area.
