Award-winning teacher John Galvin takes us through a day of cross-curricular lessons on China.
John, winner of the 2007 Teaching Award for Enterprise in South East England and teacher at East Preston Junior School, decided to focus on China because of the Olympic Games.
In this programme he works with his pupils in ICT to create a television travel report, as well as encouraging them to take part in their own version of the Olympic Games for PE. The pupils also learn about the country, history and culture, presenting their results in a video.
John feels support from his TAs and fellow teachers is key to the success of all the activities he does with the children.
