Fidgeting

January 27, 2014 by Administrator

In this pedagogy resource, behaviour expert John Bayley identifies classroom-management strategies for working with generic students who perennially create problems in the classroom, even for the most talented of teachers.

The video looks at two classes of lively Year 7s from separate north London Schools. The problem is that these secondary pupils are too fidgety and distracted to learn effectively.

Working across both schools, John explores ways to reduce the problem, culminating in a lively class conference in which one of the teachers reviews all aspects of behaviour with her most fidgety class of Year 7s.
