Just like football, The Arsenal French Double Club is a game of two halves; but this consists of 45 minutes of French in the classroom and 45 minutes of football skills with a French twist.
Working with the pupils at St Luke's Primary School in Islington, French teacher Marilyn Dhissi insists on speaking French throughout the classroom sessions.
Vocabulary is linked to Arsenal players through workbooks and an interactive whiteboard to grab the pupils' attention. When working with the Arsenal football coaches later, they are again subjected to French vocabulary.
At the end of each session the pupils receive fact file cards about the players as a reward, and are given the opportunity to go to the Emirates Stadium for a behind-the-scenes tour.
