Securing Schools

January 27, 2014 by Administrator

There are currently 4.3 million CCTV cameras in the UK, but how do schools use them, what other security measures do they routinely use, and who do they work with to put them in place?

In this programme Rod Morgan, former chair of the Youth Justice Board, describes the effect of security on running a school and ASCL president Brian Lightman explains what teachers and heads think about the different uses of security on school premises.

Hamish Chalmers, MD of Safe School Technologies, speaks about present and future school security systems. Also featured is Terri Dowty of Action on Rights for Children who suggests that children should not be watched to such a great extent, showing concern for the increasing levels of surveillance in our schools.
