Lazy Boys?

January 27, 2014 by Administrator

Educational consultants Tom Barwood and Heather Flint visit Hurst Community College, Hampshire, to discover if low motivation amongst boys is to blame for a lack of progress in raising GCSE grades.

Still smarting from a recent Ofsted visit which highlighted its lack of progress in improving results, some within the school see the problem as being laziness, especially amongst boys.

As Barwood and Flint investigate, they pinpoint a possible different cause - apparent inconsistencies in the approach to teaching and learning between departments. Can they cure the lack of motivation at Hurst Community College?

Tom Barwood, a former advertising executive, turned motivational guru and Heather Flint, a government advisor and formerly a successful headteacher, visit schools to tackle educational challenges.
