Secondary Green Resources

January 21, 2014 by Administrator

In this episode we highlight three resources to help teach green issues to secondary pupils.

Dr Maggie Smith, lecturer in education for the Open University and ghair of the Geographical Association's Environmental and Sustainable Development Education Working Group recommends:

  • Environment centres - a way for children to learn about ecology in a natural environment
  • The Poverty Challenge - a simulation game to teach sustainable development
  • bRing bRing - a scheme that provides lesson ideas and support for recycling mobile phones

Maggie joins presenter Hermione Cockburn in the studio, along with panellists Kim Jackson, environmental education officer for Brighton and Hove, and educational consultant Adrienne Jones.
