Caroline Dixon, HTLA at Sir Henry Cooper School in Hull, embarks on a course designed to improve her knowledge of mathematics and her ability to teach the subject.
For Caroline, the intensive course is particularly challenging as she has always struggled with the subject, only recently gaining her maths GCSE.
The course spans nine full day workshops over a period of five months. Knowledge gaps are identified and solutions are devised. Caroline also gets the chance to study and listen to her one-to-one mentoring back at her school. She responds well and speaks of an increased confidence in her ability to teach the subject.
