Six-year-old Charlie is a lively child. He is not academic and finds it difficult to stay engaged. In this programme, we observe his responses to a literacy class led by his teacher Ellie Clarke-Walker.
Language and communication specialist Katherine Gibbs travels to Grays Infant School in Newhaven to analyse Charlie's progress in the class. Through her observations, she discovers that Charlie is a visual learner and more receptive to enjoyable, multi-sensory learning.
Although Charlie remains distracted during the more formal moments of the class, the overall content of the lesson keeps him motivated and engaged.
