Every Child Matters & Multi-Agency Working

January 21, 2014 by Administrator

In one of the most socially deprived areas of Europe, Kingswood High School, Hull, works with numerous agencies to help its vulnerable students. See three schools' approaches in this whole-school video on Every Child Matters.

In addition to truancy there are serious issues keeping students away from school, says Child Protection Officer Elaine Wainwright, including teenage pregnancy and family difficulties.

The nearby South Hunsley School takes a different but equally successful approach, with non-teaching associate heads of year acting as co-ordinators for more than 60 different agencies.

Despite being in a leafy suburb, students at Roundhay School in Leeds still have problems that require professional intervention. The school focuses on its multi-agency work on a Tuesday and employs a police officer for one day a week.
