John Lyon, programme director at the Geographical Association visits Silverdale School in Sheffield to teach Key Stage 3 pupils about how climate change could affect their lives.
In keeping with his theme, Lyon transforms the classroom into a Tardis, complete with shuffled-up diary entries along the time-line of 1970-2070. Each group of students has to sort the cards into the appropriate time period.
The class are then presented with a mixture of gloomy and attractive future scenarios and are asked to rate them in order of preference. They then create a video diary, aimed at their grandchildren, detailing their futuristic environmental promises.
