Pupil Dialogue

January 9, 2014 by Administrator

This programme looks at some of the initiatives being pioneered by Hanson School, in Bradford, to improve the educational performance of looked-after children.

Central to the school's approach is a continuing dialogue with the pupils. There is a focus on one such pupil, Adam, as the barriers to an improved educational performance are identified and, hopefully, removed.

Teachers, senior leadership and support staff talk about the strategies they can deploy to improve Adam's attendance and motivation.

There is also a look at how an electronic personal education plan can include the pupil voice, allowing pupils to express themselves away from school, and in one-to-one sessions where they may feel constrained to speak.
