Award Winning Teachers - Excellence at Work

January 9, 2014 by Administrator

What are the qualities that make a teacher exceptional? As we take a look at the day-to-day practice of two award-winning teachers, this programme celebrates teaching at its best.

Secondary science teacher Ceri Evans and primary SEN teacher Hilary Cook have very different teaching styles and work in settings with little in common. They each have a different set of responsibilities, but many of the underlying issues are still the same.

The programme explores the following aspects of their teaching: guiding philosophies, personal relationships, understanding individual needs of pupils, capturing children?s imagination, barriers to learning, inclusion and discipline.

We see that at the heart of both Ceri and Hilary?s practice lies a passion for learning, combined with a respect for children and a genuine enjoyment of their company.
