Research into how enriched environments affect learning for Early Years and primary pupils, with the results showing that successful learning depends on the quality of the staff.
Professor Iram Siraj-Blatchford from the Instiute of Education talks through the findings of a 10 year study called Effective Provision of Pre-school and Primary Education, which followed 3,000 children in 140 different school environments.
The research found the quality of the staff in the educational environments made the biggest difference in development and progress, and concluded that simply adding more physical facilities does not necessaruly mean improved results in children's learning.
