Unconscious Learning

January 9, 2014 by Administrator

Dr Harry Witchel, a senior research fellow at the University of Bristol, measures the unconscious learning taking place in response to a series of stimuli that are either good or bad.

Unconscious learning is the process of learning without necessarily being able to describe what it is that you have learnt. Dr Witchel uses a similar experiment to that used with a lie detector for his tests on unconscious learning.

Playing the piano is a good example of an activity, which most people have to be taught. But some people seem to be able to learn without any formal tuition. So what happens to our brains when we learn without even being aware of it?
