This programme looks at the changing roles of TAs and their effect on Little Ilford School's literacy strategy.
Raising standards in literacy is the top priority at the school which is based in a deprived and culturally diverse area.
The support staff play a vital role in delivering the school's literacy strategy and TAs are encouraged to work in partnership with teachers. The highly valued TAs are also assigned to specific departments rather than to particular children.
Headteacher, Yvonne Powell is now preparing to hand responsibility for leading all the literacy intervention programmes to three HLTAs.
