Ruff Behaviour

January 9, 2014 by Administrator

This programme focuses on a group of excluded school children undertaking a pioneering behaviour management course at Cheltenham Animal Sanctuary.

The children are paired with their very own rescue dog who they work with over a four week period. The responsibility of caring for the dog, from feeding and exercising to mucking out and training, is aimed to bring out the best in these troubled youngsters.

Gloucestershire Reintegration Service report on how successful the course is and how it has helped turn around the lives of some of the children they work with. The children talk about their bad behaviour and explain why working with the dogs can change their attitude to school.

For those that complete the course there is a special graduation day to celebrate, attended by parents and carers, and a new life ahead of them.
