Teachers from Stoke Lodge Primary School in Bristol invite management trainer David Morgan to help prepare for, participate in and evaluate an effective meeting.
David starts by observing and filming a focus group meeting at the school. The staff watches and discusses the video, with David offering some basic guidelines which would help make future meetings more effective.
The staff learn that preparation for a meeting makes good use of time whilst drawing up the right agenda helps focus effective discussion. They also learn to welcome participants and ensure their voices are heard, find the right recording device, notes or flipcharts and allow time to evaluate how it all went at the end of each meeting.
