KS3/4 Geography - Pupil Feedback

December 17, 2013 by Administrator

What is it really like to see a lesson from a pupil's point of view? This programme examines how pupil feedback can be utilised effectively to enhance teaching.

At Harlington Secondary School in Bedfordshire, a Year 9 pupil is wired up with a small camera, allowing us to gain a fresh perspective on a typical geography lesson.

This school is familiar with using pupil voice to inform their teaching, but this experiment takes things one step further; using the 'pupil-cam', we discover what the lesson looks and sounds like from the third row.

Head of geography Thomas Rowell later holds a feedback session with pupils, showing them key pieces of 'pupil-cam' footage to gauge their reactions. In another classroom, geography teacher Nikki Hall observes the students as they comment.
