Sheila Sage, a primary adviser with responsibility for early years in Worcestershire is joined by a panel of experts to dicuss childminding techniques as seen in the previous programme: Childminder 1.
Those taking part in the discussion include Ged Cotton, an infant school headteacher and previously team leader for early years at QCA, early years consultant and author Diane Rich, together with special guest Julie Thomas, the childminder featured in the programme "Childminder 1".
The panel discuss child-centred starting points for planning and how the National Childminding Association (NCMA) can support planning.
The panel discuss Julie's bus journey, her questioning, the use of a digital camera and how numbers in the real world on the buses and timetables motivate mathematical development. They analyse the resources in the garden and Julie's role, specifically how much intervention there should be in role play.
