This programme looks at three schools that have implemented innovative time-saving ideas to make life easier for their staff.
By making some minor adjustments to the school day, Langley Junior School in Plymouth have freed up one afternoon a week for both staff and pupils. On Wednesday afternoons qualified professionals come into the school to run a range of activities for the pupils, giving the staff valuable PPA time.
In London, Grinling Gibbons Primary School has dramatically adjusted its school day so that staff can miss the morning and evening rush hours. They save travel time and, by finishing earlier, have time to spare at the end of the day too.
Staff wellbeing is the focus at Wintringham High School in Grimsby. They have set up a health clinic which staff can take advantage of during the school day. It offers weight checks, dietary advice, cholesterol testing and counselling, as well as being a place to let off steam when needed!
