In this episode of All Change, our makeover team transform a room used by autistic children at Sherbourne Fields Special School in Coventry.
In September 2005, the school is going to have a new cohort of Year 7 autistic children and they want to prepare a special room for them to use as a teaching base and make them feel welcome.
Architect Marco da Cruz's design was developed in conjunction with the school to create a new look for the room, including plenty for the children to play with and enjoy - including mobile sensory units, boxes, origami and a jewellery jack-in-the-box.
The programme also features St Winifreds Roman Catholic School in Lewisham, south east London, built in the 60s with a radical design with large octagonal classrooms and break-out spaces.
