Primary Admin Staff - Time Management

December 13, 2013 by Administrator

Admin staff are under increasing pressure, especially since taking on the 24 administrative tasks teachers are no longer required to do. This programme looks at ways to improve their working lives.

Time management and training consultant John Seaman observes a day in the lives of the four admin staff at Ocklynge Junior School, who deal with over 800 pupils, 100 personnel, countless parents and a budget of nearly 2 million pounds.

He offers expert advice on how they can prioritise, develop their skills, be more assertive and improve their working environment. He also challenges the headteacher to change his diary to help the admin staff.

At the end of the day, the admin team discuss all the changes that have been suggested, and we return to the school a week later to see what changes they've implemented in the short term.

This programme explores ways admin staff can:

  • Prioritise
  • Liaise effectively with heads
  • Be more assertive
