Another Day Another Fight shows how a group of Year 10 pupils from Grey Coat Hospital School in London made an eight-minute film about bullying and personal relationships.
In Autumn 2002, to coincide with the introduction of citizenship into the curriculum, the DfES launched a competition for secondary schools, asking them to come up with ideas for short films about citizenship. The winning schools were given the opportunity to make their film with the help of First Light, a company launched in May 2001 to fund and inspire the making of short films by young people, reflecting the diversity of their lives. First Light is an initiative supported by the UK Film Council with Lottery funding and managed by Hi8us First Light Limited.
In the programme, teacher Caroline Duck talks about the filmmaking process and pupils discuss their own experiences. ?It?s a fantastic way to bring people together,? she says about the experience. ?It?s really empowering. All of the group got to know each other so well. And I?ve got to know them as students.?
